Sam Pitroda: On Wednesday, Congress nominated Sam Pitroda to lead the "Indian Overseas Congress" once more.

Sam Pitroda: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reappointed Pitroda, according a news release released by General Secretary of Congress's organization, KC Venugopal. Pitroda has announced his resignation from the Indian Overseas Congress presidency on May 8th, the day of the Lok Sabha elections.

Pitroda quit following the making of this contentious remark.

A contentious remark was made by Sam Pitroda during the Lok Sabha elections. He had claimed that South Indians looked like inhabitants of Africa and that individuals from the east looked like Chinese. His remark had sparked a scandal.

Pitroda had come under heavy fire from the BJP.

Pitroda's racist comments were a point of contention for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which asserted that this revealed the opposition party's polarising policies.

What did Sam Pitroda say in full?

In a podcast, Chief of the Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda stated, "We have been living in a very pleasant environment for 75 years, where people can live together except for a few fights." Pitroda stated, "A diverse nation like India can be kept united." Whereas individuals from the north appear white, those from the east appear Chinese, those from the west appear Arab, and those from South India appear African." "It doesn't matter; we are all brothers and sisters," he declared. India's populace respects one another despite having diverse regional customs, dietary preferences, religious beliefs, and linguistic tongues." Pitroda was the focus of PM Modi.

Sam Pitroda was the target of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intense attacks during the Lok Sabha election campaign. I'm furious, PM Modi had declared. I don't feel upset when I'm mistreated. It's bearable for me. But I'm upset because Sam Pitroda has mistreated me so terribly. Pitroda's remarks were branded as "racist" by Prime Minister Modi, who further said that attempts to denigrate fellow citizens based just on their skin tone will not be tolerated.

After Pitroda made a statement regarding inheritance tax, there was a significant commotion.

Sam Pitroda also made a speech on inheritance tax during the Lok Sabha elections, a topic that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP brought up. Pitroda stated that inheritance tax is imposed in America during his explanation of the country's inheritance tax system. Merely 45% of an individual's assets valued at $105 million can be left to his heirs upon his passing.

The government owns the remaining fifty-five percent of the property. He then made the connection to India. He had stated that India does not have such a law. If a person dies with $10 billion in assets, his children will receive $10 billion while the general public will receive nothing. Such matters will need to be discussed. In response to Pitroda's remarks, Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, stated that the Congress party intended to implement an inheritance tax. PM Modi also poked fun at the Congress party on this. Congress's motto, according to him, is "Congress's loot with life, even after life.
