The Kanchenjunga Express bogies dispersed around the area.

At 11:35 a.m., the train departs from Silchar, Assam, and arrives at the Sealdah station in Kolkata, the West Bengali capital. The following day, at 7:20 p.m., the train arrives at Sealdah. The incident happened after leaving New Jalpaiguri and near Nijbari station.

According to reports, as the Kanchenjunga Express train departed New Jalpaiguri station headed towards Sealdah, it was struck by a freight train. Numerous injuries have been reported as a result of the two coaches derailing. This train crossed Rangapani on Monday morning, departing New Jalpaiguri around half an hour later than expected. However, a freight train collided with this train shortly before it arrived at Nijbari station. The rescue team, DM, and SP have already departed. Two sleeper carriages are said to have suffered significant damage.

Stations at Sealdah and Naihati have special passenger aid booths installed.

At the stations of Sealdah and Naihati, East Railway has installed special passenger aid booths. According to Sealdah DRM Deepak Nigam, they are prepared to assist the passengers in whatever manner they can. One of their top concerns is the comfort of the passenger. There have been five confirmed deaths from the incident. Due to the impact, two coaches have trampled over one another.


The cargo train driver disregarded the signal.

It is said that this accident occurred as a result of the freight train driver's disregard for the signal. Kanchenjunga features a guard's compartment and two parcel vehicles. Fifteen ambulances, the divisional team, and the NDRF have arrived at the location. The minister is in the war room, surveying the situation.
