Price of Petrol and Diesel: On Saturday, the Karnataka government raised the "sales tax" on fuel, resulting in a rise in the cost of both gasoline and diesel. The price of gasoline has increased by three rupees per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 3.50 per liter due to the increase in sales tax. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 19 of Karnataka's 28 Lok Sabha seats, with the BJP winning 17 of them and the Janata Dal (Secular) winning two.
