 Indian Railways:
Rail has also received attention in the budget. The budget's inclusion of modern trains has been emphasized. Are you aware of the Modi government's plans?

Indian Railways: This year, the introduction of contemporary trains such as the Bullet Train, Vande Metro, and Vande Bharat Sleeper has been prioritized. The government has set aside Rs 21,000 crore specifically for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, which will expedite the project. In addition, a plan to launch the Vande Bharat Sleeper train for long-distance travelers has been developed.

Station and infrastructure improvements

Additionally, the government has allocated a sizable sum for train station modernization. Track expansion, the construction of new bridges and platforms, and the use of innovative technologies throughout have all received particular attention. This budget also includes mention of the freshly constructed railway link in Jammu and Kashmir, which will greatly benefit the people of North India.

High-speed rail and bullet train projects

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (Bullet Train Project) has received more funding this time. In order to make India's goal of high-speed trains a reality, the government wants this project finished as quickly as feasible.

Safety on Trains and the "Kavach" System

The 'Kavach' Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system has been singled out to prevent rail accidents. By automatically stopping the train, this technique will significantly lower the number of accidents. For this project, the government has allocated Rs 1,112.57 crore.

Variability in Railway Stock

Railway businesses' stock fell precipitously once the Railway Budget was announced. Companies including Texmaco, Titagarh Rail, Jupiter Wagons, RVNL, and IRFC had a 5-9% decline in share prices. The primary cause of this is that the railways' capital expenditures have not increased significantly this time around.

Railway profits and ambitions for the future

In 2025–2026, the government anticipates that the railroads will generate Rs 3.02 lakh crore. This will comprise passenger tickets of Rs 92,800 crore and freight of Rs 1.88 lakh crore. In particular, the number of passengers is probably going to rise as the number of Vande Bharat trains increases.

Budget 2025: Technological Upgrades for Indian Railways

Large sums of money have been raised for the bullet train and future train projects. This time, however, the railways' capital expenditure was somewhat lowered, which caused a decline in train companies' stock prices. However, the government's priorities continue to be the renovation and safety of the trains, which will give passengers improved amenities.
